When should we create a module?

The most obvious question at this point is when and why you would want to develop your own Ansible modules. The answer is most of the time you actually won't want to. But there are cases where you may need to. Some examples of this are as follows:

• When communication with a specific API feels clumsy or arduous
• To do something custom that Ansible does not have native support for
• To communicate with an internal process or software that does not have an already developed Ansible module

Generally, if you want to write an Ansible module and the software solution was created by a third-party (open source, commercial, and so on), it makes sense to check the Ansible modules for out-of-the-box support before jumping ...
