When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Antivirus Products
The antivirus product vendor world has undergone massive consolidation in the late 1990’s, but at the same time, the products have matured into professional enterprise-quality tools for handling virus incidents quickly and painlessly in most cases. The following is a list of the major vendors providing antivirus products and services:
- Frisk Software International, http://www.complex.is
One of the last remaining smaller antivirus product vendors to have not been acquired by the huge companies like Network Associates and Symantec, Frisk Software International has established and maintained a reputation of selling a high-quality product in its F-PROT antivirus tool.
- Network Associates, http://www.nai.com
Originally known as McAfee Associates, Network Associates is one of the oldest antivirus product vendors in the industry. It now offers a very wide range of security software and hardware tools.
- Symantec, http://www.symantec.com
Another longtime vendor offering antivirus product solutions is Symantec with its Norton Antivirus suite of tools.
- Trend Micro, http://www.antivirus.com
Originally specializing in hardware “dongles” that scanned programs for known viruses as they were executed, Trend Micro has become a major name in commercial antivirus product solutions.
