Bei so vielen Informationen, die an so vielen Orten verfügbar sind, kann es manchmal schwierig sein, sich durch das Rauschen zu kämpfen, um die benötigten Informationen zu finden und sie zu verstehen, wenn man sie gefunden hat.
Informationsarchitektur (IA) ist eine Designdisziplin, die sich darauf konzentriert, Informationen auffindbar und verständlich zu machen. Deshalb ist sie besonders gut geeignet, um diese Herausforderungen anzugehen. IA ermöglicht es uns, Probleme aus zwei wichtigen Blickwinkeln zu betrachten: dass Informationsprodukte und -dienste von Menschen als Orte wahrgenommen werden , die aus Informationen bestehen, und dass diese Informationsumgebungen so organisiert werden können , dass sie optimal auffindbar und verständlich sind.
