So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chapter 15. Problem Fixes for Informix Dynamic Server
This chapter is more or less specific to the Informix Dynamic Server (IDS) engine. Much of the data is anecdotal and comes from postings in the comp.databases.Informix newsgroup. Absolutely none of this is officially supported by Informix, Informix Press, Prentice Hall, or myself for that matter.
These items are often in conflic with conventional wisdom and are presented to you with a "your mileage may vary" type of disclaimer. These are mostly things that other people have said worked for them. I haven't tried many of them for myself, so if you take any of these suggestions, first of all make sure that you do nothing to harm your database.
