In this chapter, we’ll study the relationship between Digital and IT Strategy and the service value system (SVS). This chapter includes:
• Opportunity and demand;
• Value;
• Governance;
• Continual improvement;
• Practices;
• Practice: strategy management; and
• Environmental analysis.
Strategic planning should be based on the opportunities and demand that an organisation sees in its environment. The SVS and the service value chain express the organisation’s strategy and provide a structure for plans and actions. The SVS describes how all the elements of an organisation interact to support value creation.
