So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

共通鍵暗号と公開鍵暗号の組み合わせ
共通鍵暗号と公開鍵暗号のそれぞれの長所を生かし短所を補う方法に「ハイブリッド暗
号」がある。実際に送受信する大きなデータの暗号化に共通鍵暗号を、共通鍵暗号で
使う鍵のネットワーク経由での交換や認証用データのやり取りに公開鍵暗号を、送受信し
たデータの完全 性の確認にハッシュを使っている。
共通鍵暗号の特徴
共通鍵暗号は暗号化と復号に同
じ1つの鍵を使う方法で高速に処
理できるが、どうやって相手に鍵
を渡すか、人数が増えると鍵の数
も増えるという問題がある。
公開鍵暗号のメリット
公開鍵暗号は暗号化と復号で異
なる鍵を使い、このペアを用意す
るだけなので通信相手が増えて
も用意する鍵が増えず、容易に鍵
を相手に渡すこともできる。
公開鍵暗号のデメリット
公開鍵暗号は共通鍵暗号と比べ
複雑な計算を行うため負荷が高
く、大きなファイルの暗号化には
向かない。また、認証局や証明書
が必要になる。
