In previous chapters, we introduced holistic improvement and looked at integrating Lean and Six Sigma as an example of building an improvement system that uses various improvement methodologies. An important point to remember from previous chapters and the cases studies discussed in Snee and Hoerl (2003) is that jumping on the “improvement bandwagon”, by any name, is no guarantee of success.
