Identity providers

Usually, users aren't created in OpenShift directly, but rather are supplied by an external identity management solution, which can be as complex as LDAP and Active Directory with a trust relationship set up between them, or as simple as a text password file with hashed passwords. Choosing a particular identity provider is influenced by factors such as:

  • Your company's existing identity management solution
  • How often users are added and deleted
  • Whether you need a centralized management

OpenShift implements the following identity providers:

  • AllowAll
  • DenyAll
  • HTPasswd
  • LDAP
  • Keystone
  • BasicAuth
  • RequestHeader
  • GitLab
  • GitHub
  • OpenID
  • Google
