There are several ways to set up and start a development environment. Usually, the development environment is run on a workstation, and it is important to cover the most popular workstation operating systems. In the next section, we will describe several ways to quickly deploy OpenShift on workstations on different platforms. The most popular desktops are Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Please be aware that a development environment is not equal to a production environment, due to capacity, scalability, and security limitations.
