So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Creating a UI test project
We'll start by taking a look at UI Tests – or automation tests, as they are sometimes known (although most variations of developer tests are automated).
UI tests allow us to validate certain aspects of our apps from a visual perspective of the user's happy path of what is expected from the app. Let's start by adding a UITest project to our existing Recipe app.
In our existing project, click File | New | Target. Once the menu is open, make sure the iOS tab is selected and search for Test in the search box. Then, highlight UI Testing Bundle and click Next:
