I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Starting the development servers
In this application, we will have two separate servers running at the same time:
- One with the backend Node/NestJS application, exposing the GraphQL API
- One with the frontend React application, consuming the GraphQL API
Following are the commands:
- To start the backend server, you will use yarn start:dev from the backend folder.
- To start the frontend server, you will use yarn start from the frontend folder.
Be aware that the backend application will NOT be functional at first. We will fix that in the very next section together!
From now on, you should keep two Terminal windows open: one for the backend application and another one for the frontend application. As soon as our frontend starts making calls to ...
