When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
The controller package
Our controller interface is really straightforward. It exposes a set of methods that can be used in the HTML template to trigger operations:
- loadCountries will be invoked when the application starts. This method will retrieve the list of countries from the World Bank API using the population service. That list will then be displayed onscreen by the view layer.
- loadYears will also be called when the application starts. It will generate a list of years that the user can choose via select boxes. These will be used to define the range of data to fetch in order to create the charts (for example, 2000-2010).
- renderChart will gather the information needed to create a new chart and will then ask the view to render it ...
