In JavaScript, the concept of classes did not exist before ES2015. Inheritance in JavaScript is based on the prototype chain; we say that JavaScript uses prototypal inheritance.
Also, the class keyword added by ES2015 is actually only syntactic sugar around the usage of prototypes—it does not really introduce a new inheritance mechanism!
JavaScript has no notion of interfaces, and, as a matter of fact, TypeScript interfaces are actually never converted to JavaScript—they simply disappear.
