TypeScript was unleashed into the world on October 1, 2012. At the time of writing, that makes it 7 years old. I was fortunate enough at that time to be allowed to use it from the get-go and spend time helping others with it via Stack Overflow. Sebastien has been part of the TypeScript journey with me since before it was popular. It was only later (circa 2016) that TypeScript blew up in popularity and now, in 2019, it is quickly becoming the de facto way to create web applications. Two key popular web UI frameworks, Angular and Vue, are both being written in TypeScript.
