Under this networking mode, each container's endpoint will be created using the subnet of the container host. The IP address must be assigned statically from the container host's subnet. All the container endpoints will have the same MAC address due to Layer-2 address translation. Network traffic between any two containers on the same subnet will be bridged to the container host while network traffic between containers on different IP subnets or different hosts are forwarded to the physical host's virtual switch. While sending packets out of the container the MAC address will be replaced by the MAC Address of the container host. For incoming packets MAC address is re-written using the container's address.
