I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
4.11. Summary
This chapter explored all of Mac OS X's basic security settings, including those made in the Security pane of System Preferences and several other kinds of preferences. I discussed general preferences, such as requiring a password to wake your Mac from sleep and disabling automatic login; how to use FileVault to encrypt the contents of your home folder; and how to adjust the settings of Mac OS X's application firewall. I covered security-related settings in the MobileMe, Energy Saver, and Spotlight preference panes, mentioned how to limit access to AirPort networks, and described the implications of enabling access for assistive devices. I also reiterated my advice to use Apple's Software Update mechanism to keep all the components of Mac OS X up to date.
