Mac OS X Server includes a powerful mail server with advanced administrative tools. This chapter discussed the security factors to consider when using the mail server and how to configure it to protect both the server itself and your users. In particular, I showed how to ensure that your users log in securely, how to use SSL to encrypt communication between the server and its clients, how to lock down the server's relaying feature, and how to make the most of its built-in spam and virus filters. Finally, I described the process of activating the mail server and setting up individual accounts to use the type(s) of email accounts you prefer.
