So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
7.14. Summary
This chapter described many of the ways in which your Mac can share data and resources with other computers and how to do so as safely as possible. I described sharing your Mac's optical drive with others and explained how one Mac can control another's screen. I discussed file sharing at some length, including how to set up users and groups and how the various file-sharing protocols differ in the security they provide.
I showed how one Mac can share its printers and scanners with other users and how to use your Mac as a simple web server. I also discussed how one Mac can log in to another remotely using SSH, how remote management tools work, and how and why one Mac might want to send an Apple event to another. I mentioned Xgrid, which enables multiple Macs to combine their resources to solve processor-intensive problems. I showed how to share your Mac's Internet connection with other computers and explored some of the ways in which Bluetooth facilitates sharing data and resources.
