I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
VADER sentiment analysis with NLTK
For the English language, NLTK provides an already trained model called Valence Aware Dictionary and sEntiment Reasoner (VADER) which works in a slightly different way and adopts a rule engine together with a lexicon to infer the sentiment intensity of a piece of text. The NLTK version uses the SentimentIntensityAnalyzer class and can immediately be used to have a polarity sentiment measure made up of four components:
- Positive factor
- Negative factor
- Neutral factor
- Compound factor
