It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Radial Basis Function
The Radial Basis Function (RBF) kernel is the default value for SVC and is based on the following function:
Parameter γ determines the amplitude of the function, which is not influenced by the direction but only by the distance from the origin. This kernel is particularly helpful when the sets are concave and intersecting, for example, when a subset belonging to a class is surrounded by another one belonging to another class.
