If you think of business as a giant laboratory, then you’ll recognize the Scientist as the person in charge of the experiments. Rather than experiment with test tubes and chemicals, this manager relies on management theories and concepts. In my experience working for the Scientist, I noticed that he seemed most happy when he was putting a favored leadership or management theory into practice or testing a new theory of his own devising.
