Class loaders load classes into the Permanent Generation section of memory. The size of this section is also restricted, and the GC works with this section only during major garbage collection. There are different class loaders, and, as a result, the heap can contain duplicated classes. Therefore, it's important to explore class loaders when analyzing the heap. To get an overview of class loaders, you use the Class Loader Explorer, which shows loaders along with their number of defined classes and the number of created instances:
