Background processing using the bgRFC framework is both powerful and simple to use. However, it still requires user interaction in order to launch the code that registers the calls in the queues. Another drawback is that only remote-enabled function modules can be used in this scenario, so not every piece of code can be executed this way. If either of these obstacles is thrown into the development process, there is another mechanism provided by SAP that removes both problems – the background job scheduler.
