web3.js JavaScriptライブラリは、汎用JSON RPC仕様を実装するイーサリアム互換のJavaScript APIとともに、イーサリアムエコシステムの特定の機能を含むモジュールの集まりです。
このスクリプトを実行するには、Infuraサービス（https://infura.io）を使用するので独自のローカルノードを実行する必要はありません。

npmバージョンが有効か確認してください。
$ npm -v
5.6.0
まだ起動していない場合は、npmを初期化します。
$ npm init
基本的な依存関係をインストールします。

これにより、package.json構成ファイルが新しい依存関係で更新されます。
