The different categories of messages in a message-driven system enable various communication modes and processing functionalities. Commands, queries, and responses facilitate one-to-one communication, while events are used to inform about past occurrences. On top of that, selected event categories can serve as facts in persistent streams, such as when applying Event Sourcing.
