Message- and Event-Driven Systems with CQRS and Event Sourcing: Web and Cloud Architecture
by Alex Lawrence
Preface
Message-driven systems are omnipresent in software, yet their key concepts and inner workings are generally not well understood. Software products can benefit in many ways from a purposeful application of message-driven architecture, CQRS, and Event Sourcing. One problem is that the three concepts often get poorly implemented, leading to more damage than benefits. This circumstance in turn contributes to the false conclusion that message-driven systems are inherently complex and offer little value to software products. As a result, developers and architects tend to favor synchronous and temporally coupled communication and integration, even for distributed systems.
