When you first log into Minecraft, you’ll quickly find that there are two game modes you can explore, Survival mode and Creative mode. In Survival mode, you have to take the time to collect all of the resources you use and make use of tools to progress. However, in Creative mode, you can fly and break blocks instantly, as well as have access to an infinite amount of resources. Working in Survival mode is a lot different from working in Creative mode, and you need to keep track of, and watch out for, a few things when in that particular mode. In this chapter, we show you how to estimate and manage your resources as well as how to make your way around a building. We also talk about different ways to gather resources.
