Chapter 6

Mobile UX Patterns

Abstract

This chapter introduces a set of mobile patterns to assist in the creation of different mobile experiences. Each pattern uses a unique user flow, user interface elements, hardware, and gestures specific to mobile. Patterns range from using the location, using the camera, creating a launch screen, defining a detailed list and a login—all necessary patterns to creating an engaging and usable user experience. Readers will be able to use these patterns as a starting point to build and explore their own mobile user experience. As they develop this skill, they will be able to combine the individual patterns into more complex experiences.
