Wrapping Up
Well, our journey through the magical realm of TCP on the wings of the BEAM is complete. In this chapter, we chewed through a lot of advanced information around TCP clients. We started with a couple of different approaches to pooling. Then, we explored a completely different approach to clients based on the state machine abstraction. Finally, we looked at yet another pooling strategy based on the Registry Elixir module.
If you want real-world examples of TCP clients on the BEAM, you’re in luck: most database drivers are TCP clients at the end of the day. Good codebases to explore include Redix,[71] Postgrex,[72] Mint,[73] and Finch.[74]
