Let us study the basic file types using a few question answers.

A. Files are either text files or binary files.

A. There are many advantages, such as:
- These files can be created with a sophisticated word processor to a simple tool such as notepad in Windows.
- These files can easily be read or printed.
- It can be used to store a program (source code).
- It can also store input and output data.

A. Binary files can be of two types (1) binary data files; (2) binary program files.
