21.6.1 Simple introduction to astrology
We will describe the Indian astrology as practiced in Northern India. If one wants to know about the future, an astrologer studies the horoscope (Kundali). A horoscope consists of 12 houses. Each house holds a zodiac sign.
When a Native (person) is born the sign present on Eastern Horizon is known as his/her ascendant sign. In casting the horoscope, this sign is placed in the first house. The remaining houses other signs in sequence.
