In the previous chapters, we have introduced the concept of emerging markets, outlining their characteristics and explaining how they differ from developed economies. Acknowledging that “emerging markets” is an encompassing description, which includes a broad variety of economies, we looked at factors that tend to be common across them, such as having a population that is, on average, younger than that of Japan or the U.S.
