When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
About the Author
Mike Hicks is currently an independent consultant and has been involved in the world of application performance management (APM) for many years. He has authored numerous white papers on the subject, in addition to the following two books:
Managing Distributed Applications: Troubleshooting in a Heterogeneous Environment (Prentice Hall, 2001)
Application Performance Management: An Introduction (Compuware, 2001)
Trained as a network engineer at the Dover Harbour Board in England, Mike worked as network manager at the Canterbury and Thanet Health Authority, and then moved to Siemens, where he was seconded to Ford Motor Company as a network specialist, maintaining the company’s European network as well as connections to its U.S. headquarters. ...
