Time for action – creating the time dimension dataset

In this tutorial, we will create a simple dataset for a time dimension.

Note

In Chapter 2, Getting Started with Transformations, you created a transformation that generated a dataset with one row by date in a date range. In this tutorial, we will reuse that work.

First, we will create a stream with the days of the week:

1. Create a new transformation.
2. Press Ctrl + T or right-click on the canvas and select Transformation settings to access the Transformation properties window.
3. Select the Parameters tab and fill it as shown in the following screenshot:
   
4. Expand the Job category of the steps.
5. Drag a Get Variables ...
