I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Appendix A. Installation
While the beginning PHP programmer may not have occasion to install PHP, it won't be too long before that situation does arise. Fortunately, installing PHP and the common Web servers, such as Apache and IIS (Internet Information Server), is relatively straightforward and can normally be done without a hitch. The two main considerations for your installation are the operating system and the Web server application you want to use. These two factors will normally dictate whether you install a precompiled version (e.g., a Windows binary) or configure your own (Linux). If you are running Apache, you'll probably want to use PHP in its module form, but this won't necessarily be an option otherwise.
