Medical Staff
Traditional medical staff models date back to the initial quality improvement efforts
of physician leaders as early as the 1900s. e American College of Surgeons was
the first to formalize an approach to this in 1919, establishing voluntary standards
that defined what a medical staff should do for approved hospitals.
