• There could also be other anomalies that could be introduced from the time of
the shop test to the time of installation and testing – such as the wrong impeller
size, pump speed, or incorrect direction of rotation. All these could adversely
affect the operating point.
It is worth noting though, that once the pump performance curve has been established and
drawn up at the shop test, the performance curve tend to remain consistent so long as there
is no mechanical damage or wear and tear to the pump. So if anomalies arise and the pump
has not been dismantled or mechanically altered in any way, the reason for the discrepancy
could be with the system layout or system components, which would need to be checked. ...
