Dear Lloyd,
Am I legally required to feed the actors and crew on my film set? Couldn’t I just give them an hour off and let them go buy their own food at the McDonald’s down the street? I’m trying to put as much money as possible on the screen, and it doesn’t make sense to me that I should need to feed 20 people every day. They’re adults, for Pete’s sake.

In theory, you are entirely justified.
Your actors and crew members are adults, and therefore are entirely capable of feeding themselves. And if you have a small crew and are not under time constraints and you are filming in a mall parking lot, by all means, let them go to the food court and grab some authentic ...
