This book is primarily about decisions for product release planning. This chapter is intended to extend this view and to demonstrate that the models, methods and tools presented are not limited to release planning, but applicable more broadly. More precisely, what is demonstrated is that a range of seemingly different problems can be reformulated to allow for the application of the same methods and tools presented for release planning. The problem classes considered for this purpose are:
Road-mapping for multiple products
Release planning with consideration of quality demands
Agile project management following Scrum
Planning for competitiveness of products
Project portfolio planning
