Ah, control! It makes you think that you just might be in charge of something, right? Perhaps. In Visio terms, a control on a SmartShape symbol is yet another “green thing.” Similar to a sizing handle, it is green, but dimmer. When you select a SmartShape symbol and then click-and-drag on a control handle, two things will become readily apparent. First, by pausing on the handle before clicking it, you will generally see a brief item of information displayed in a help box. This assists you in understanding what the control handle is for.
