FTP and Your Service
One way that businesses pass information around is through the FTP protocol. This can be internal, external, secured, unsecured, and many other variations. Using a service to pick up files that have been sent via FTP between customers or groups within a company can be a useful way to move data between data stores. You can do a number of things using FTP or a service that supports the FTP protocol, including picking up files from one location and moving them to a secure internal location using an internally authenticated procedure, or processing a data dump from one data store to another data store.
