So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Sometimes it seems that our society has gone app-crazy, and QuickBooks Online is a willing participant in the frenzy. In this chapter, I talk about apps that enable you to access your books from your mobile device, as well as apps that add new functionality. I also cover some automation aspects for QuickBooks, including importing certain lists and transactions, adding automatic subtotals to sales forms, and transforming paper or electronic bills and receipts into transactions.
The automation techniques that I discuss in this chapter are available to all QuickBooks Online subscription levels. In Chapter 9, I explore how Essentials, Plus, and Advanced users can utilize the Recurring Transactions feature to eliminate repetitive data entry.
