Chapter 18Reframing Leadership

Each of the frames offers a distinctive image of leadership. Depending on leader and circumstance, each turn of the kaleidoscope can reveal compelling and constructive leadership opportunities, even though no one image is right for all times and seasons. In this chapter, we discuss four images of leadership summarized in Exhibit 18.1. For each, we examine skills and processes and propose rules of thumb for successful leadership practice.
