A Framework for Moving Forward
We would benefit from a framework to characterize different areas that comprise L&D activities. Over the course of a number of my engagements with organizations looking to become more strategic in the use of technology to support achieving performance, a pattern emerged (Quinn, 2009). This pattern covers the various elements that constitute the full spectrum of opportunities to support learning outcomes (see Figure 7.1). The focus of the model is on coupling the elements together to yield an integrated solution for performance covering both optimal execution and continual innovation.
