It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

In 2018, the top team at DBS, the Singapore-based bank, came together to discuss a key priority as part of an annual leadership workshop. The focus wasn’t on strategy or AI or business models (at least, not directly). No, the most senior people in the bank had come together to talk about data transformation.
Many companies appreciate the importance of data, but few make it a top leadership priority like DBS did (and continues to do). That’s because DBS realized the critical role of data in enabling its aspirations to be the best bank in the world.
That lesson had come through clearly in the first phase of DBS’s transformation journey when it focused on becoming digital to the core (see sidebar, “DBS’s first phase”).
