I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

In just a few short years since their introduction, software-defined networking (SDN) and network functions virtualization (NFV) have managed to obtain almost universal consensus, acclaim, and recognition, as a major theoretical concept for modern network design moving forward. Interestingly, however, the SDN architecture, the actual realistic deployment methodology, does not have that same consensus. Some major network equipment vendors agree with the principles of SDN but want a distributed architecture whereby the intelligence is retained on the network devices and they could be controlled by a centralized orchestrator via vendor application programming interfaces (APIs).
