The preceding chapter discussed the main use cases for software-defined networking (SDN) and network functions virtualization (NFV) and how they would affect us, whether we are a user, small to medium-size enterprise (SME), enterprise data center, carrier, or cloud service provider. You saw that carriers, cloud, and communication service providers (CSPs) were the ones driving SDN and NFV due to a range of use cases.
