Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) envisions a reality where each gadget, anywhere, could be associated. This would create a reality where lights automatically turn on, entryways open upon the arrival of relatives and remain closed to unfamiliar persons, coffee makers turn on when the morning alarm goes off, and many more applications. The IoT isn’t the internet, yet it could be called a system of gadgets which are associated with the internet. Much research related to the utilization of IoT is currently being conducted. In this chapter we try to explain how we can mechanize the home with automation using Arduino and REST engineering. The outcome likewise indicates how the utilization of Arduino and REST engineering is beneficial when contrasted with other accessible resources in the field of IoT. The proposed framework can possibly give adaptable answers to address current issues such as energy conservation, energy awareness, cost cutting and so on.
