So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Wrapping Up Windows Phone
We’ve come up with a fairly useful app that can run on a Windows phone, tablet, or desktop. We’ve worked with a number of useful concepts in both C# and XAML, including making HTTP calls, styling view components, navigating between screens of data, and adapting the view based on the window’s size. We even added a stock ticker–type view to the app’s tile on the Start screen. You should have a good foundation to take on a more complex project on the Universal Windows Platform.

If you’ve never done any Windows development before, or if you’ve worked with older technologies, chances are you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how powerful the SDK is and how easy it is to create nice-looking apps on any Windows device. ...
