Wrapping Up Xamarin
The promise of Xamarin is in its ability to share a maximal amount of code between mobile-platform projects. This week we’ve tested that ability in a number of ways by sharing code both with iOS and Android platform-specific projects and with Xamarin.Forms.
Strengths
The ability to share code with Xamarin works really well. Whether you’re just building a common business layer or using Xamarin.Forms, you can significantly cut down on repeating yourself on different platforms.
Of course, none of that power means much if the apps we produce either look or perform poorly. This doesn’t seem to be the case at all, although there is an extra layer of executing code with the Mono runtime. You can build the UI in just the way you want ...
